Fasting Regiment

Prayer and Fasting Schedule for the Month of 
January

I believe the Lord is leading Rivers Of Life Christian Center and our friends to pray and fast. If you would like to join us during this time of praying and fasting here are the instructions:

Skip A Meal Fast
Five Days of Prayer and Fasting
January 12th - 16th, 2026
Including January 16th
Instructions:
Set aside a time for prayer each day Skip a meal each day Drink plenty of fluids of your choice Read the Bible each day
Prayer Instructions:

  • Have an unwavering prayer life

  • Have a fasting regiment

  • Read your Bible

  • Obey the Word

  • Live a consecrated life

  • Refrain from willful sin


Practice these things and you will never stumble

Please include the following when praying Sensitivity of heart Sanctification Holiness
Matthew 6:16-18 NASB-1995

16 “Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.  17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face  18 so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Pray Without Ceasing

Matthew 18:19-20 NASB-1995

19 "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." 

 Pray at a Minimum of

One Hour Per Day

Matthew 26:40-41 NASB-1995

40 And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter. "So, you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour? 41 Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
